International Ministerial Council of Great Britain ordains ministers and consecrates bishops and archbishops, both men and women. The Bishops’ Forum serves with the Adjudicators’ Forums in the Department of Theology and Law. Annual subscriptions, licence fees, ordination fees, donations and occasional special events fund the Council.

IMCGB provides authenticity and recognition to its member Churches and ministers, enabling them to work as equals with the leadership of all major denominations. It empowers black and other ethnic minority leadership in the Church of Christ worldwide, authenticating their own theological traditions and worship styles.

IMCGB empowers women as well as men in leadership at all levels, gives certification to member Churches and ordains and licenses Ministers, equipping them for wider service by their participation as Adjudicators in the committee structures of the Council. The Committees come together as Forums in the Department of Theology and Law, the reporting, debating and decision-making chamber of IMCGB.

IMCGB encourages and provides ecumenical and theological education and training for its ministers and evangelists in a variety of ways, thus offering opportunities for development and service, and progression to higher levels of ministry. It makes provision to equip the ministers of the future with the skills, understanding and spiritual wisdom they require to fulfil their calling, setting standards and providing accreditation for its approved colleges in whatever country they are situated.
